Founded in 2013 by Radoslav Albrecht, Bitbond began as one of the first global peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platforms using Bitcoin for payment processing. In 2019, the company pivoted its business model, becoming the first to receive approval from Germany's financial regulator, BaFin, for a security token offering (STO). Today, Bitbond focuses on providing B2B "Tokenization as a Service" solutions. Its core business is offering a white-label technology platform that enables banks, financial institutions, and other issuers to create, manage, and distribute tokenized securities and other digital assets on the blockchain, aiming to make capital markets more efficient and accessible.
