Bank of Italy

The Bank of Italy is the central bank of Italy, founded in 1893. As an integral part of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), its primary mission is to ensure monetary stability and the stability and efficiency of the financial system. Its main functions include implementing the monetary policy of the Eurosystem, supervising banks and other financial intermediaries, overseeing the payment system, managing the state's treasury services, and conducting economic analysis and research. It acts as the "banker's bank" and is the sole issuer of euro banknotes in Italy.
