Zambia Electronic Clearing House Limited (ZECHL) was established in 1999 as a joint venture between the Bank of Zambia and other commercial banks to oversee the country's payment systems. Its core mission is to provide an efficient, secure, and reliable national payment systems infrastructure. ZECHL operates critical financial services such as the Cheque Truncation System (CTS), the Direct Debit and Credit Clearing (DDACC) system, and most notably, the National Financial Switch (NFS), which enables seamless transactions across different banks' ATMs, Point of Sale (POS) terminals, and other digital payment channels throughout Zambia.
