Founded in 2013 by Herbert Moore and Vicki Zhou, WiseBanyan was a pioneer in the fintech industry, launching as the first free digital investment advisor (robo-advisor) in the U.S. Its mission was to democratize access to sophisticated investment management by eliminating advisory, trading, and rebalancing fees. The platform built personalized portfolios for clients using low-cost exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and offered additional premium services. In March 2019, WiseBanyan was acquired by Axos Financial, Inc. and was subsequently integrated and rebranded into their digital investment arm, now known as Axos Invest Managed Portfolios.
