Originally founded as a Micro Finance Institution (MFI) in 2009, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited commenced its banking operations in January 2017 after receiving a license from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The bank's mission is to provide financial services to the unbanked and underbanked population, with a significant presence in rural and semi-urban areas. It offers a full suite of banking products, including savings accounts, current accounts, fixed and recurring deposits, as well as various loan products like microfinance loans, housing loans, and loans for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The bank was listed on the Indian stock exchanges (NSE and BSE) in July 2023.
