Launched in 2007, the UNC Kenan-Flagler Private Equity Fund is one of the few student-run private equity funds in the United States. It operates as an evergreen fund under the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, with the dual mission of providing practical, hands-on private equity experience to MBA students and generating long-term capital appreciation. Students are responsible for the entire investment lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence to deal structuring, execution, and portfolio management, investing in privately held companies primarily in the Southeast U.S.
