Originally chartered in 1968 as the State CS Employees Federal Credit Union to serve employees of the New York State Department of Civil Service, the institution has since grown to become one of Long Island's largest credit unions. In 2019, it rebranded to Jovia Financial Credit Union to better reflect its expanded and diverse field of membership. As a not-for-profit cooperative, Jovia's mission is to provide its members with affordable, technology-driven financial solutions, including checking and savings accounts, personal loans, mortgages, and investment services, while actively supporting the local community.
