Originally chartered in 1953 as the Texas Highway Department Credit Union #3, the institution rebranded in 2005 to become Star of Texas Credit Union. As a member-owned financial cooperative, its mission is to serve as the premier financial partner for its members by providing affordable financial services. It operates on a not-for-profit basis, returning earnings to members through lower loan rates, higher savings rates, and fewer fees.
