Shardeum is a public blockchain protocol designed to address the "blockchain trilemma" of scalability, security, and decentralization. Co-founded by Nischal Shetty (founder of WazirX) and Omar Syed, the project utilizes a technology called dynamic state sharding to achieve high transaction throughput (TPS) and consistently low gas fees, even as network usage grows. Its mission is to onboard billions of users to Web3 by providing a platform that is accessible, affordable, and scalable for developers to build decentralized applications (dApps). The network is currently in its "Betanet" phase, allowing for public testing and development ahead of its mainnet launch.
