Founded in 1934, the Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union (PSECU) is a state-chartered, federally insured credit union. It was originally established to serve Pennsylvania state employees but has since expanded its field of membership to include employees of many other organizations, students and alumni of Pennsylvania universities, and family members of existing members. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, PSECU's mission is to provide its members with high-quality financial products and services at low or no cost, returning profits to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher deposit yields, and fewer fees. The credit union operates primarily through a digital-first model, emphasizing online and mobile banking over a large physical branch network.
