Point72 is a global asset management firm founded by Steven A. Cohen. The firm was established in 2014 to manage Cohen's personal assets after its predecessor, S.A.C. Capital Advisors, pleaded guilty to insider trading charges. Point72 began accepting outside capital in 2018. The company deploys a variety of investment strategies, including long/short equity, systematic and global macro investing, and also operates Point72 Ventures, a venture capital arm that invests in early-stage companies in fields like artificial intelligence, fintech, and enterprise technology.
