Platinum Capital Limited was an Australian public company that operated as a fund manager, primarily managing the Platinum Global Fund. The company solicited funds from investors with the promise of investing them in international equities. However, it was discovered that the company's director, Michael Bodley, had misappropriated millions of dollars of investor funds for personal use and to pay other investors in a Ponzi-like scheme. Following an investigation by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), the company was placed into liquidation by the Federal Court of Australia in 2016.
