Established on September 25, 1998, under the Company Act 1956, the Maharashtra State Other Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation Ltd. is a Government of Maharashtra undertaking. Its primary mission is to promote the economic and financial development of the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) residing in the state. The corporation functions as a channelizing agency, implementing various loan schemes and welfare programs, often in collaboration with the National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC), to provide financial assistance for self-employment, education, and entrepreneurial ventures among the OBC community, thereby fostering their socio-economic progress.
