Founded in 2011 and launched in 2012, Nutmeg was a pioneer in the UK's digital wealth management sector. Its mission was to make investing more accessible and straightforward for a broad audience by using technology to create and manage diversified investment portfolios at a lower cost. In June 2021, J.P. Morgan announced its acquisition of Nutmeg to form a key part of its new digital bank offering in the UK, under the Chase brand. Following the acquisition, Nutmeg's products and services have been integrated into Chase, and the original Nutmeg brand and platform are being officially closed to customers in early 2024 as all accounts are migrated to the Chase platform.
