The National Co-operative Housing Union (NACHU) was registered in 1979 by the Government of Kenya to act as an apex organization for housing cooperatives. Its primary mission is to provide affordable and decent housing to Kenyans by mobilizing savings and offering a range of financial and technical services. NACHU works through housing cooperatives across the country, providing services like housing finance (mortgages), project management, land acquisition, and capacity building to enable low and moderate-income households to own their homes.
