Founded in 1936 to serve the employees of Baltimore City, Municipal Employees Credit Union of Baltimore, Incorporated, commonly known as MECU, has grown to become one of Maryland's largest credit unions. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, its mission is to serve its members and the community by offering competitive rates and a comprehensive suite of financial products. Services include personal and business banking, checking and savings accounts, auto loans, mortgages, credit cards, and investment services. Membership is primarily open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Baltimore City.
