The platform allowed individual investors to buy and sell curated baskets of up to 30 stocks or ETFs that were linked to specific ideas, trends, or economic themes (e.g., "Clean Energy," "Robotic Revolution"). The company aimed to make diversified, concept-driven investing accessible and low-cost. In April 2020, Motif Investing announced it would be closing down its operations. Its technology and intellectual property were acquired by Charles Schwab, and existing customer accounts were transferred to Folio Investing.
