CASH Oregon is a key economic empowerment program of its parent organization, Metropolitan Family Service (MFS), a non-profit founded in 1950. The program's mission is to help low-income families and individuals in Oregon and Southwest Washington achieve financial success. It primarily accomplishes this by operating one of the largest free tax preparation and filing assistance programs in Oregon, leveraging IRS-certified volunteers. In addition to tax services, CASH Oregon provides financial education workshops and facilitates access to matched-savings accounts (Individual Development Accounts - IDAs) to help participants build assets and improve their long-term financial stability.
