Founded in 2017, Longfin Corp. was a financial technology company that went public on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Its stock price skyrocketed by over 2,600% after it announced the acquisition of Ziddu.com, a purported blockchain solutions provider, at the peak of the cryptocurrency bubble. However, the company's success was built on fraud. In 2018, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) charged Longfin and its CEO with fabricating over 90% of its revenue to meet Nasdaq listing requirements and misleading investors. The company was subsequently delisted, its assets were frozen, and it ultimately filed for Chapter 7 liquidation.
