Joy
Information by Research TrustFinance
Joy, known as "The Happy Money App," was a financial technology company that developed a mobile application aimed at reducing financial stress. The app used principles of psychology to help users understand their spending habits by having them rate purchases with a "happy" or "sad" face. Based on this feedback and the user's financial data, Joy provided personalized coaching and automated the process of saving money into a separate, FDIC-insured savings account. The company was founded to make managing personal finances a more positive and less stressful experience. In February 2021, Joy was acquired by the fintech company Digit, which was later acquired by Oportun in late 2021. The Joy app has since been discontinued.
