Founded in 1926 as the St. Paul Postal Employees Credit Union, Ideal Credit Union grew to become a prominent financial institution serving the Twin Cities metropolitan area. As a member-owned cooperative, its mission was to provide high-quality, affordable financial services and act as a trusted financial partner for its members. In 2023, Ideal Credit Union announced a merger of equals with SPIRE Credit Union. The merged entity officially began operating as Blaze Credit Union on January 1, 2024, combining the resources and membership of both legacy institutions to serve a larger community in Minnesota.
