Himalaya Exchange was launched in late 2021 as a cryptocurrency exchange platform. It was founded by Chinese businessman Guo Wengui (also known as Miles Kwok). The platform's stated mission was to provide a secure and decentralized financial system, free from the influence of traditional banking and government oversight. It primarily offered trading of its own digital assets, the Himalaya Dollar (HDO), a purported stablecoin, and the Himalaya Coin (HCN). The exchange was part of a larger ecosystem of media and business ventures linked to Guo Wengui. However, the platform and its related offerings became the subject of major fraud investigations by U.S. authorities.
