Established in 1992, the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) was the leading professional association for financial planners, dedicated to setting high professional and ethical standards for its members. Its mission was to foster a world-class financial planning profession for all Australians by providing members with certification, education, and professional development, as well as advocating on their behalf to government and regulators. In April 2023, the FPA merged with the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) to form a new, unified body called the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA), which now continues the mission of advancing the financial advice profession.
