For over two decades, the firm managed billions of dollars for institutional and high-net-worth clients. However, in January 2015, the firm suffered catastrophic losses when the Swiss National Bank unexpectedly removed its currency cap on the Swiss franc, wiping out its flagship Global Fund. Following this event, Everest Capital closed its largest funds and returned the remaining capital to its investors, effectively ceasing its primary hedge fund operations.
