Founded in 2013, Copatient's mission was to help patients navigate the complexities of the US healthcare system by addressing confusing and potentially overpriced medical bills. The company employed a team of "Patient Advocates" who would analyze medical bills for errors, overcharges, and insurance discrepancies. They would then negotiate directly with hospitals and providers on behalf of the patient to lower the total amount owed. In January 2020, Copatient was acquired by Talon, a healthcare price transparency platform. Copatient's technology and services have since been integrated into Talon's broader suite of tools for employers and their members.
