Founded in 1971, The Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators is a not-for-profit professional valuation organization that establishes the practice standards, educational requirements, and ethical guidelines for its members. The Institute's mission is to advance the betterment of the business valuation profession in Canada. It administers the Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation, which is the premier credential for business valuation professionals in the country, recognized by the courts, the business community, and the Canada Revenue Agency.
