Founded in 1951, Caja Popular Mexicana is a non-profit financial cooperative supervised by the Mexican National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV). Its mission is to promote financial inclusion and a savings culture among its members ("socios") by offering accessible and competitive savings, credit, and investment products. As a cooperative, its members are also its owners, and it operates with a focus on community development and the financial well-being of its members rather than profit maximization for external shareholders.
