Originally known as BB&T Insurance Services, the company was the insurance brokerage division of BB&T Corporation. Following the 2019 merger of BB&T and SunTrust Bank to form Truist Financial Corporation, BB&T Insurance Holdings was combined with SunTrust Insurance Holdings to create Truist Insurance Holdings. It now operates as a subsidiary of Truist Financial and is one of the largest insurance brokers in the United States, offering commercial property and casualty, employee benefits, and personal lines of insurance, as well as risk management services to businesses and individuals.
