Asosiasi Fintech Syariah Indonesia (AFSI) was established on October 12, 2017, as a formal body and forum for Sharia-based financial technology (fintech) operators in Indonesia. Its primary mission is to foster a healthy, growing, and trustworthy Sharia fintech ecosystem that contributes to the national economy and financial inclusion. AFSI collaborates closely with government regulators, including the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan - OJK), Bank Indonesia (BI), and the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI), to develop industry standards, advocate for supportive policies, and educate the public on Sharia fintech services.
