Founded in 1936 by a small group of American Airlines employees, the American Airlines Federal Credit Union is one of the oldest and largest credit unions in the United States. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, it is owned and operated by its members. Its mission is to provide a range of competitive financial services, including savings and checking accounts, loans (auto, mortgage, personal), credit cards, and investment services. Membership is open to current and retired employees of American Airlines, their families, and employees of various other companies within the air transportation industry.
