Founded in 2002 in Geneva, Switzerland, Advanced Currency Markets (ACM) quickly established itself as a significant online broker specializing in foreign exchange (forex) trading for retail and institutional clients. The company was known for its proprietary trading platform and competitive spreads. In October 2010, Swissquote Bank SA, a leading online bank in Switzerland, acquired ACM to significantly expand its forex trading business. Following the acquisition, all of ACM's clients, technology, and operations were fully integrated into the Swissquote brand, and the ACM name is no longer used.
