Voice of America (VOA) is a U.S. government-funded international multimedia agency that serves as the official external broadcaster for the United States. Established in 1942, VOA's mission is to broadcast accurate, balanced, and comprehensive news and information to an international audience. It is overseen by the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and is mandated by its charter to present a balanced and comprehensive projection of significant American thought and institutions, and to present clear and effective U.S. policies.
