Founded in 1996 as an NGO and later incorporated as a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) in 2006, Village Financial Services Ltd. (VFS) has been dedicated to empowering economically disadvantaged sections of society through financial inclusion. The company operates as a registered NBFC-Micro Finance Institution (NBFC-MFI) with the Reserve Bank of India. Its primary mission is to provide micro-credit and other financial products to foster entrepreneurship and improve the livelihoods of its clients, with a strong focus on women beneficiaries. In March 2024, Village Financial Services Ltd. merged with its subsidiary to form a single entity, now operating under the name VFS Capital Limited.
