Founded in 1948, Van 't Riet Material Handling Systems established itself as a leading international provider of automated logistics solutions, specializing in high-capacity sorting systems like their well-regarded shoe sorter. The company provided complete intralogistics systems, from design and engineering to manufacturing, installation, and software control. In 2018, Van 't Riet was acquired by MHS (Material Handling Systems), a U.S.-based provider of advanced parcel handling systems. MHS later merged with Fortna to become FORTNA, and the Van 't Riet brand and operations have been fully integrated into the global FORTNA organization.
