truePTS was established as a consortium-backed post-trade processing company for the over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives market. Its primary offerings were a Swap Execution Facility (SEF) for executing derivatives trades and a Swap Data Repository (SDR) for reporting swap data to regulators as mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act. In 2017, IHS Markit acquired the SEF business of truePTS and its other services were wound down or integrated. The platform and its functions were ultimately absorbed into the MarkitSERV business, which now operates under the name OSTTRA.
