TCF Financial Corporation was a Detroit, Michigan-based bank holding company with its primary subsidiary being TCF National Bank. Founded in 1923 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the company grew to become a significant regional bank, offering comprehensive financial products and services, including consumer and commercial banking, trust and wealth management, and leasing and equipment finance. In a major industry consolidation, TCF Financial Corporation completed a merger of equals with Huntington Bancshares Incorporated on June 9, 2021. Following the merger, the TCF brand was retired, and all branches and operations were converted to the Huntington National Bank name.
