The Student-Managed Portfolio Project (SPIFFY) is a hands-on investment program for students within the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly). Established in 2004, the program allows students to manage a substantial investment portfolio, which has grown to over half a million dollars through donations from alumni and supporters. SPIFFY's mission is to provide students with practical, real-world experience in security analysis, portfolio management, and investment research, bridging the gap between academic theory and professional practice in the finance industry.
