Founded in 1911, The Securities Transfer Association (STA) is the principal trade association for transfer agents in North America. Its members, which include banks, trust companies, and other corporations, serve as transfer agents, registrars, and administrators for publicly and privately traded securities. The STA's mission is to support and promote the efforts of transfer agents through advocacy, communication, and education, representing their interests before Congress, the SEC, and other regulatory bodies, while also fostering industry best practices.
