Rocket Pool is a community-owned, decentralized protocol that provides liquid staking services for Ethereum (ETH). Launched on the Ethereum mainnet in October 2021, its mission is to lower the barriers to entry for both stakers and node operators, reinforcing Ethereum's decentralization and security. Users can stake as little as 0.01 ETH to receive a liquid staking token, rETH, which accrues staking rewards over time. The protocol also enables individuals and entities to run an Ethereum node with a reduced capital requirement of 8 ETH, as opposed to the standard 32 ETH required for solo staking. The project is governed by the Rocket Pool DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization).
