Founded in 2013, Rocketbank was one of Russia's first and most prominent digital-only banks, targeting a younger, tech-savvy demographic. It operated without its own banking license, instead partnering with licensed banks (initially Interkommerts, then Otkritie FC Bank, and finally Qiwi Bank) to provide its services. The company was known for its stylish branding, user-friendly mobile application, and exceptional customer support delivered primarily through in-app chat. After being acquired by Qiwi in 2017, the parent company decided to wind down the project to focus on its core business strategy, leading to the complete cessation of Rocketbank's services in early 2021.
