Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, Residential Credit Solutions, Inc. (RCS) operated as a specialty residential mortgage loan servicer. The company focused on acquiring and servicing credit-sensitive mortgage assets, working with homeowners to find solutions to avoid foreclosure through loan modifications and other loss mitigation strategies. RCS was acquired by Walter Investment Management Corp. in 2012. Following the subsequent bankruptcies of its parent company (which rebranded to Ditech Holding Corporation) and the sale of its assets, RCS's servicing operations and portfolios were effectively wound down and absorbed by other servicers, primarily NewRez LLC and its affiliate, Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing. The company no longer operates as an independent entity.
