Moonbeam is a developer-oriented blockchain that provides full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatibility on the Polkadot network. This compatibility allows developers to deploy existing Solidity smart contracts and dApp front-ends to Moonbeam with minimal changes. As a parachain on the Polkadot network, Moonbeam benefits from the shared security of the Polkadot Relay Chain and integration with other chains connected to Polkadot. The project is managed by the non-profit Moonbeam Foundation, with its sister network, Moonriver, serving as a community-led canary network on Kusama.
