Metis is a decentralized Ethereum Layer 2 rollup platform focused on empowering the Web3 economy. It aims to solve Ethereum's main challenges: high gas fees, slow transaction speeds, and a lack of scalability. By utilizing Optimistic Rollup technology and planning a transition to a Hybrid Rollup (combining Optimistic and ZK proofs), Metis offers a low-cost, highly scalable, and developer-friendly environment. The project was co-founded by Elena Sinelnikova, Kevin Liu, and Natalia Ameline, with the backing of the MetisDAO Foundation. Its architecture supports the concept of Decentralized Autonomous Companies (DACs), providing an infrastructure for both developers and businesses to transition from Web2 to Web3.
