Originally founded in 1993 as KREDIT, it grew to become one of Cambodia's leading microfinance institutions (MFIs), focusing on providing financial services to SMEs and rural communities to foster economic development. In 2020, KREDIT MFI Plc. completed a merger with Phillip Bank Plc., a member of the Singapore-based PhillipCapital Group. The combined entity now operates as a comprehensive commercial bank, leveraging KREDIT's extensive network and expertise in SME lending with Phillip Bank's broader banking products, including retail, corporate, and digital banking services.
