Founded in 1951, Island Savings has a long history as a community-focused financial cooperative. In 2015, it merged with and became a division of First West Credit Union, one of Canada's largest credit unions. Island Savings maintains its local brand identity and decision-making while leveraging the resources of its parent company. Its mission is to provide a full suite of financial services, including banking, borrowing, investment, and insurance products, to its members, with a strong emphasis on local community support and financial well-being.
