Established in 1999 from the estate of Mr. Ir. R.R. van der Zee, the foundation's mission is to financially support students in higher vocational (HBO) and university (WO) education in the Netherlands. It specifically focuses on furthering education and research in hydraulic engineering and water management by awarding grants to eligible students to help cover their study costs. The foundation is managed by a board and operates as a non-profit entity to fulfill the wishes of its founder.
