The Harlem Entrepreneurial Fund (HEF) is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) established in 2007 as an affiliate of the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ). Its mission is to fuel the economic growth of its community by providing loans and business development services, with a specific focus on supporting minority and women-owned businesses. HEF offers various loan products and technical assistance to help local entrepreneurs start, sustain, and expand their businesses, thereby creating jobs and fostering economic stability in Harlem and surrounding neighborhoods.
