Founded in 1986, Finance Bank Zambia Ltd (FBZ) grew to become one of the largest indigenous commercial banks in Zambia. It provided a comprehensive range of banking services, including retail banking, corporate banking, treasury services, and international trade finance to individuals and businesses across the country. In 2016, FBZ was acquired by Atlas Mara Limited, which subsequently merged it with its other Zambian banking asset, African Banking Corporation (BancABC), to create a larger, more competitive entity. In 2021, Access Bank Plc completed the acquisition of Atlas Mara's Zambian operations, leading to the full integration of the former Finance Bank Zambia assets and operations into what is now known as Access Bank Zambia Plc.
