Founded in 1975, The Cooperative Fund of New England (CFNE) is a mission-driven community development loan fund. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), CFNE's mission is to build a just, equitable, and sustainable economy by providing financing and support to cooperatives and community-based organizations. It aims to foster shared ownership and democratic control, primarily supporting food, housing, and worker co-ops, as well as community-oriented nonprofits that create or preserve jobs and provide essential community services.
