Established in 1959, Bank Al-Maghrib is the central bank of Morocco, succeeding the former "Banque d'Etat du Maroc". Its primary mission is to ensure price stability by implementing monetary policy. The bank holds the exclusive privilege of issuing the Moroccan dirham, manages the country's official foreign exchange reserves, and ensures the proper functioning of the banking system and the security of payment systems.
